We were honoured to supply our Burlington Blue Grey slates for the complete reroof of Belsay Hall, a Grade I-listed, Greek Revival mansion managed by English Heritage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project involved re-roofing the Hall\u2019s expansive low-pitch roof (roughly 900 m\u00b2 at 12\u00b0) which had suffered severe weather damage and water ingress over the years. The restoration, carefully phased over two years, required a durable slate that precisely matched the original early-19th-century roof appearance.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We coordinated deliveries to the site in tandem with the reroofing schedule so that new slates arrived as each roof section was stripped and re-slated. Because the Hall remained open during works, logistics were carefully managed. Our team supplied the slates in appropriate sizes and courses to mirror the traditional diminishing-course pattern. This allowed the roofing contractor to lay the new slate without visible seams or colour shifts. The result was a structurally sound roof that matches the original aesthetic, even the fine detailing like conical roof curves and copings were faithfully restored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
