Description
Our Welsh Plum Slate Aggregate is ideal for an extensive range of domestic landscaping projects, as well as commercial developments. Also known as Welsh Heather, or Welsh Plum Slate, this purple slate is quarried in the North Wales from Penrhyn Quarry, a plum heather colour with tones of blue and green running through makes a lovely subtle backdrop to plant or garden features. The 20mm size is mainly used for pathways and driveways as it is flatter than the 40mm so it is easier to walk and drive on. For a more textured finish try the 40mm Welsh Plum.
Please remember that this is a naturally quarried slate and that our bagging process will result in the aggregate being covered in dust, this may result in the initial appearance being different to product images BUT don’t panic this can be easily removed by using a hose or by simply allowing natural rainfall to do this once the product is laid.
To estimate how much you require we work on a very basic calculation – 1mtr3 (cubic metre) = 1.7 tonne.
For example – 6mtr long x 5mtr wide at 75mm (0.075mtr) deep = 2.25mtr3 = 3.825 tonne = 4 bags
All our deliveries are made on a tail lift vehicle with a pump truck to the nearest point of access – the driver requires a flat paved area to offload – concrete, tarmac, block paving etc. We cannot offload onto gravel, grass or hardcore. We can also offer Bulk Tipped loads.
